A packed house hosted jointly by the European Commission (DG Regio) and the Committee of the Regions in Brussels on 13 February 2023 was a clear indication that this tradition and high-profile event has not lost its attractivity. Participants noted with satisfaction that after the COVID-19 forced online years the EWRC will take place in-person in Brussels on 9-12 October 2023 attracting several hundreds of visitors ready to engage in networking and corridor talks as well.

The main slogan of the Week, Thriving Regions, Stronger Europe, radiates optimism and invites interested stakeholders to put forward innovative applications (deadline: 11 April 2023) to be part of the programme. There are several ways to demonstrate your local or regional achievements: participatory/political labs, EURegions Talks, workshops or exhibition stands offer good possibilities to change best practices, share experience and information.

What the organisers expect from the selected applicants are high communication standards, gender balance and a paperless approach.

Don’t worry if you are not selected to be part of the official programme: still you can organise a side event for the benefit of the event community linked to the main themes between 9 September – 9 November 2023.
