On 2 October 2025, Ravenna will welcome policymakers, experts and industry representatives for a conference dedicated to ICT strategies and solutions for port-hinterland integration in the Adriatic and Ionian region. Organised under the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), the event will explore how digital technologies can improve the management of rail operations, strengthen interconnections between ports and inland terminals, and contribute to greener and smarter transport chains.

The conference is part of the 2025 Work Plan of EUSAIR Pillar 2 “Connecting the Region” on Transport and is supported by the CROSSFREIGHT project, which develops innovative tools for more efficient rail operations.

Discussions will highlight the potential of digital innovation to reduce bottlenecks, enhance sustainability and boost competitiveness across the Adriatic-Ionian port system. A keynote session will address the role of ICT in shaping Europe’s transport corridors, while a roundtable will focus on how cooperation between countries and ports can accelerate the transfer of practical solutions across the region.

The event will take place at the Ravenna Port Authority Conference Room and will run from 9:45 to 14:00 in hybrid format. Participation is free but requires registration, with real-time translation provided in Italian and English.
