The Youth4Regions programme is the initiative of the European Commission targeting aspiring journalists. The programme provides journalism students and young journalists with a week of learning in Brussels in October 2024 during the European Week of Regions and Cities, where successful applicants will follow training sessions, receive mentorship from more experienced journalists and work with them in the press room, and will visit the various EU institutions and media organisations.
Applications are accepted under three categories
- general journalism,
- photojournalism, and
- video journalism)
and should be submitted by journalism students and young journalists from EU Member States, neighbouring, and accession countries.
The ideal candidate
- has interest in what the EU and Cohesion Policy are doing in his/her region;
- has a background in journalism (studies or up to 2 years of experience);
- is an EU or neighbouring country citizen aged from 18 to 30 years old;
- is available during the period of 5 – 11 October 2024.
The Commission will cover all programme costs for the participants.
