In a rapidly changing world, under the current uncertain and challenging conditions Cohesion policy is and remains one of the cornerstones of EU policy-making. Its success is key to implement EU’s political priorities especially in the field of a European Green Deal and Digital Europe leading to a smarter and fairer Europe. From a public perspective Cohesion policy is an area where the EU’s impact on daily life of millions of citizens can be manifested and measured.

The really complex system of Cohesion policy is not easy to understand, which is why it is not so easy to write about it in the press. But nothing is lost, here is a newly launched online MOOC course which aims to address gaps in journalism education and to promote knowledge about Cohesion Policy and its many benefits for European regions and cities. It is designed for journalism students, professionals, and anyone interested in EU affairs.

The free, interactive e-learning platform is developed by a consortium of institutions, including the Technical University of Dortmund (Germany), the University of Porto (Portugal), University of Wrocław (Poland), the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and the AP University of Antwerp (Belgium), along with several journalist organisations and funded by the European Commission.

Structured into 14 modules, the course is available in all EU official languages and spans a full semester. The course can be accessed via the project website
