DYON is on

szept 30, 2024

The EUSDR National Coordinators endorsed the establishment of the Danube Youth Organisations Network (DYON) under the Austrian EUSDR Presidency.

48 organisations from the Danube region expressed interest to cooperate on issues related to the EUSDR.

DYON should be seen as a complementary structure to the Danube Youth Council (DYC) established in 2022: DYC members represent individuals, voicing the concern of their generation. DYON members are active in the field with the potential of reaching oout to a larger number of young people.

The 4th (online) meeting of DYON was held on 30 September 2024 with the participation of the Danube Strategy Point (DSP) and the representatives of the Austrian EUSDR Presidency.

The establishment of DYON should be seen as a process, with necessary flexibility and patience from both the participating youth organisations and other stakeholders, in particular Priority Area coordinators.

Participants agreed among others to the following concrete steps:

  • a rules of procedures will be developed for DYON;
  • a webinar will be organised by DSP on the functioning of EUSDR to update the knowledge of DYON members.

European House Budapest, a founding member, has proposed the creation of a working group on Youth Policy Dialogues as the President of the new Commission, Ursula von der Leyen announced that the First Youth Policy Dialogue should take place within the first 100 days of the new Commission.
