The main event of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in 2017 was its Annual Forum held in Budapest on 18-19 October with close to 1000 participants including civil society representatives. Coordinated by the European House delegates from all the V4 countries were active participants of the debates based on the positive results of the international preparatory civil conference in Budapest on 28-29 September 2017.
One noticeable acknowledgements of civil society contribution to the success of the Annual Forum was that its Joint Ministrerial Statement concrete mention was made – for the first time in a similar EUSDR document – to the role what CSOs can play with their bottom-up approach and increased ownership feeling to the implementation of EUSDR objectives, Project partners of the V4 countries are proud to be part of this promissing process and ready to wok on follow-up activities.
